My Back Ground Story
|
From the BEGINNING |
Where i am now |
From a young age I have known I wanted to be an Interior Designer. At 5 I became exposed to the design industry by a close relative and I immediately fell in love. Like all designers, I began my career by doing small projects for family and friends who gave me the opportunity to re-design some of their spaces in their homes and offices.
Aside from design, community service is also important to me. I have participated in many activities from community cleanups to Habitat for Humanity builds. These projects are not only rewarding from a personal perspective, but I use these projects as growth opportunities to understand buildings and environments from a construction perspective which helps me in my interior designs. |
hile still young in my professional career, I have utilized my time wisely for both personal and professional growth. I began a job at Home Depot as a customer service representative into an opportunity to guide customers with their flooring and decor and which lead to a promotion to the role of kitchen designer.
I also utilized my role with the Boys & Girls Club Preforming Arts Center into a design opportunity by helping with stage design and set up and creating exciting atmospheres for community dances. These opportunities not only helped me in my growth as a young designer, but have helped me grow personal in my interpersonal communication skills and customer service. With the recent completion of my Bachelors of Science in Interior Design from Newbury College I am looking for my next growth opportunity as a designer to take the next step in my professional career. |
